Winter brings with it a coziness; hot oatmeal, sweaters, socks, good books, soup, and a good cup of tea. There’s also a very wintery combination: apples and cinnamon. The smell wafts through the house and you know it’s apple butter.
And so here is my ingredients for the wonderful treat, that you will surely want to enjoy this holiday season!
Winter’s Slow Cooked Apple Butter:
8 cups of apples
2 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
(optional: add sugar or honey to taste - if needed)
